Spring cooking with Mustard oil

Sarshapa thailam is our favourite oil we currently use in the Lakshmi kitchen πŸ§‘πŸ³πŸ‘©πŸ³

Benefits of Using Mustard Oil, called Sarshapa Thaila especially during the spring season.

Spring season (Vasanta Ritu) is associated with Kapha dosha, which tends to accumulate during winter and liquefy in spring, leading to issues like allergies, colds, sluggish digestion, heaviness, and lethargy.🀧🀧🀧

We would generally recommend using mustard oil more for those with more Kapha in their body composition. It stimulates the Agni πŸ”₯(digestive fire) and its hot, penetrating and drying qualities help to balance Kapha.

Due to its hot and pungent qualities, it may not be suitable for those with excessive inflammation and feelings of heat within the body πŸ”₯
Many people overlook using mustard oil in cooking, simply because it is not regularly used in many modern recipes. However, this oil packs a number of health benefits that may be suitable for you!

Not only can mustard oil be used in cooking, but it is very effective in treating ear aches and chest congestion when combined with other Ayurvedic herbs πŸ‘‚ It is often combined with garlic to make a herbal oil as ear drops. It can also be great for clearing excessive AMA, digestive toxins, from the body. Because of this, it can help treat excessive itching and urticaria of the skin.

As always, it is best to speak with your Ayurvedic practitioner to make sure mustard oil is suitable for you. Bookings are available via the link in our bio or by calling 0406 810 547.
