๐ฏ๐ Hello Bee and Honey Lovers! ๐๐ฏ
In Ayurveda, honey has been treasured for thousands of years as a natural healer. Valued for its medicinal properties, it is an essential ingredient in many traditional remedies.
According to Ayurvedic principles, honey is believed to have a lekhana (โscrapingโ) action, making it traditionally used to support healthy metabolism and help clear excess ama (toxins) within the Ayurvedic framework. Honey has also been studied for its natural antibacterial and anti-fungal properties.
โจ A few Ayurvedic honey tips:
๐ฏ Avoid heating honey. Traditional Ayurveda advises against heating honey. If adding honey to tea, allow it to cool to a comfortable drinking temperature before stirring it in. Donโt cook with honey!ย
๐ Choose raw and local honey where possible.
โ ๏ธ Ayurvedic note: Classical Ayurvedic texts advise against consuming honey and ghee together in equal proportions by weight.

Amazing to see all those bees working so hardโnot just for the honey they produce, but for the vital role they play in our world. ๐๐ผ
It reminded me when listening to my daughter, Elva, preparing for her speakers challenge. Her topic is: What would happen if bees became extinct? Iโm so proud of her for choosing such an important subject and raising awareness about something that affects us all.
Itโs not always the biggest things that make the greatest impact on life. Sometimes itโs something as small as a little bee that makes the biggest difference. ๐
