What this can indicate from an Ayurvedic perspective.
Recently I had a friend explain to me that they never feel hungry. Ayurveda provides a wealth of information on this topic, with recommendations to accompany it.
First, when assessing a client, we will always assess the individual’s state of Agni, their digestive fire.
Often times, a lack of appetite can indicate mandagni. This is a low digestive fire. In the condition of mandagni, a client may rarely feel hungry. Depending on other symptoms, digestive boosting recommendations may be prescribed. This can be as simple as sipping ginger tea throughout the day or taking herbs before a meal to boost the agni.
Recommendations are very individualised.
At times, a lack of appetite is not always a sign of imbalance. Lets look at the change of seasons. Oftentimes, during the change of season we will notice that our appetite naturally changes. If no other symptoms persist, it is important to give the body the time it needs to adjust to the seasonal changes.
How to do this?
Eating light and easy-to-digest foods.
Other questions we will investigate:
How is their sleep? How is their elimination? How is their diet? Have they undergone bloodwork and testing to investigate?
A balanced Agni is a sign of good health. Tikshnagni is an overactive Agni, Visamagni is an erratic Agni both at not ideal. It’s about finding balance, SAMA AGNI.
Let us help you to find Samagni.
We look forward to welcoming you at the Lakshmi clinic.
