Kati means waist in Sanskrit. Basti means a container, to hold or retain.
During this treatment a circle of dough is placed on a specific area of the body, in terms of Kati basti this the lower back. Warm medicated oil is poured into the dough based on the practitioners prescription.
This treatment is great for balancing Vata Dosha. It is works to improve blood flow, reduce swelling and alleviate pain.
The treatment will be followed by Nadi Sveda, localised steam treatment.
Kati Basti improves sciatica, digestion, menstruation complains, joint problems, relieves spinal problems and calms the mind.

Janu Basti: located on the knee.
Hridaya Basti: placed on the heart. Works to improve the functioning of the heart.
Griva Basti: placed on the upper portion of the back and neck.
