Water is Jeeva β Life π§β¨
Inspired by the beautiful heavy rain today π§οΈπ§
In Ayurveda, Jala (water) is one of the five great elements - the Panchamahabhutas. Classical Ayurveda describes eight different types or groups of water according to their source.
Water is essential for life and plays an important role in maintaining hydration and supporting the bodyβs tissues and physiological functions.
πΏ Some Ayurvedic tips for drinking water:
1. Drink water at room temperature or warm.
2. Begin your day with a glass of warm water.
3. Sip water throughout the day rather than drinking large amounts at once.
4. Avoid drinking excessive amounts of water during meals.
5. Infuse water with herbs or spices such as coriander or fennel, according to your individual needs.
6. Listen to your body and respond to your thirst.
7. Choose clean, filtered or appropriately boiled water. Traditionally, water may be stored in Tamra (copper) or earthen vessels.
8. For personalised guidance, consult a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner.
As the rain falls today, it is a beautiful reminder of just how precious Jala - water - truly is. π§οΈπΏπ§
