Dhara Treatments Based on the Doshas

Dhara Treatments Based on the Doshas 💨🔥💧

Should I have shirodhara, Ksheeradhara or Takradhara? That’s a questions many clients ask🤔👇👇👇

Should the beautiful Shirodhara vessel be filled with

1. Ksheera / medicated milk
2. Thailam / medicated oil
3. Takra / medicated Buttermilk

Ayurvedic treatment is individualised based on the specific needs of the client. We have three different Dhara treatments that we offer at the clinic - each with a specific action to pacify certain doshas.

Dhara is the Sanskrit word meaning ‘to pour’.

Looking to Pacify Vata Dosha? Try Shirodhara. This deeply relaxing and nurturing treatment involves the continuous pouring of warm medicated oil over the forehead, using a pot with a tap that controls the flow of oil. 😍

Looking to Pacify Pitta Dosha? Try Ksheeradhara. The milk is processed with herbs having cooling potency (sheeta virya) such as chandana/ sandalwood, yasthimadhu/ licorice, amalaki/ indian gooseberry, musta and shatavari. Ksheeradhara has great benefits in the treatment of insomnia, psychological imbalance, mental tension, stress, excess heat, burning sensation in the eyes and body, migraines, premature greying and headaches due to Vata and Pitta imbalance.🔥

Looking to Pacify Kapha Dosha? Try Takradhara. Takradhara is known to be effective in improving the health of chronic skin conditions. The buttermilk is prepared with Ayurvedic herbs suitable for you.

It is best to speak with your Ayurvedic practitioner regarding which treatment will be most suitable for you. Bookings available online.

If you have any questions you are welcome to call or visit the clinic during business hours, Monday to Saturday from 9am-4.30pm. 🪷🪷🪷
