Yes, you can still (and should!) eat cooked foods in Summer ☀️☀️☀️
Often times our Agni’s strength actually diminishes ⬇️ in the hot weather, meaning it’s even more important to favour nourishing, easy-to-digest, cooked foods! Ayurveda acknowledges that cooked foods are easier for us to digest, rather than cold raw foods 🧊.
If a warm cooked meal doesnt sound appealing to you in summer, try eating it slightly cooled/ at room temperature instead.
🥣 Mung soup is a staple in Ayurveda ~ supporting general health & wellbeing 😌 … when in doubt, have some mung soup!
We really love it, and think you will too!
In the summer months sub in cooling (shita) herbs, spices and vegetables to your mung soup such as coriander, mint, fennel, zucchini, and green leafy vegetables 🌿
Mung soup is easy to digest, highly nutritious and naturally detoxifies the body. It works by cleansing the liver, gallbladder and vascular system of any Ama (toxins).
Mung soup may help with: weight loss, swelling & water retention, sharpening the mind & promoting tranquility, providing energy & vitality, and cleansing the subtle channels of the body. ✨
If you’d like to try mung soup we have a free downloadable recipe available on our blog… or pop into the Lakshmi Shop to pick up one of our ready made soup packs 🤩! We have 3 varieties available: mung beans, red lentil and kitchari! 💗
We hope you enjoy incorporating mung soup into your diet… even in the summer months!
With love, the Lakshmi team 🙏🪷
