Ayurvedic practitioners Karin, Roberta and Alice were all on duty today.
Karin: consulting new clients not only from Perth but also Malaysia, Northern Territory and South Australia. Yes we offer Ayurvedic consultations via zoom. During the consultation, you will meet virtually with one of our practitioners to discuss your health concerns.
As with all our clients, you will receive advice for daily routine, diet, Ayurvedic herbs and treatment recommendations. A plan will be specifically tailored for you to suit your needs.
Roberta: was looking after our Panchakarma client who is undergoing Yoga basti enema treatment. Enema (basti) treatment is great for balancing vata dosha, nourishing and removing impurities from the colon. Basti treatment at Lakshmi Ayurveda may be suggested to you during a consultation.
Alice: was preparing our Panchakakarma client with an Abhyanga oil massage and svedana sudation treatment for a Virechana (bowel cleanse). Therapeutic Purgation - Virechana employs controlled laxatives to cleanse the body of excess Pitta dosha, toxins, and metabolic waste through the bowels. It aids in purifying the liver, improving skin health, regulating digestion, and balancing Pitta-related conditions.
The work Karin, Roberta and Alice have done today will fall in the branch of Kaya chikitsa (internal medicine).
Ayurveda has eight branches.
1. Kaya Chikitsa (Internal Medicine):
This branch focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases and health conditions using herbal remedies, diet, lifestyle modifications, and detoxification techniques such as Panchakarma.
We will write more about the remaining 7 branches of Ayurveda soon.
