Ahara, Vihara, Aushadhi. Have you heard of these Sanskrit terms?
Ahara is the Sanskrit word for food or diet
Vihara is the Sanskrit word for lifestyle
Aushadhi is the Sanskrit word for medicines or drugs
These are the three aspects, pillars you can say, that an Ayurvedic practitioner will address when seeing a client.
First, we will make recommendations for improvements to the individual’s diet. Consuming more seasonal and Satvic foods is often recommended. Less processed and take-out meals and more home-cooked and nutrient-rich meals are always a good starting point
Adjustments to lifestyle will also be recommended in the consultation. This can include a daily routine, called Dinacharya in Sanskrit, of tongue scraping, oil pulling, oil massage, and others such as meditation and exercise
The third pillar, Aushadi, will incorporate Ayurvedic drugs or medicines to help treat the individual’s complaints, ailments, or conditions
Consultations with our practitioners are available for booking via the link in our bio. Alternatively, you are welcome to call us at 0406 810 547 to make an appointment.
