5th day of Navratri - Devi Skandamata

Today is the 5th day of Navratri and traditionally Devi Skandamata is worshipped 

Skandamata is depicted riding a lion. She holds her son Lord Skanda (Kartikeya, Ganesh’s brother), two hands holding lotus flowers and one hand in the abhayamudra.

What is the significance of abhayamudra? This Mudra is held to assist in relieving fears, providing protection and encouraging peace

Colour of the day ? Green to symbolise growth and fertility. Yellow is also often worn on this day as it encourages positive emotions.

Skandamata is often adored for her peaceful, radiant and pure essence ✨ Devotees express increased feelings of love and happiness in their lives due to her blessings.
