Have you had your palms read before?

The first time I took a interest in palmistry was whilst travelling in Sri Lanka in 2004. ?

I was visiting the Dambulla Cave temple where I met an old men. I sat with him on the temple ground he took my hand and started to talk about palmistry. ?

He just wanted to share his knowledge of palm reading without asking for anything in return.

Palmistry can trace its roots back over 5000 years to Hindu Astrology. It is found all over the world with numerous cultural variations and various schools of palmistry. ?

Stress and anxiety levels can often be reflected in the intensity and number of lines on the palm. It is from these lines that inferences are often drawn.

In palmistry the areas on the palm are designated as “ mounts”. There are seven main or primary mounts and one minor mount that appears on the palm. Each has a planetary connection to indicate is respective importance on the palm. ?

It is such a wonderful and interesting art reading the palm. ?

Each person has an active and inactive hand. The active hand is linked to the past and the inactive hand to the future. For someone who is right handed the right is the active hand. ?

In your Ayurvedic consultation we do take palmistry into consideration we will be looking at your ?

1. Hand size and finger length ?

2. Hand shape and the elements. For example Kapha dosha is made from the water and earth element. A earth hand may by more square and solid with short and thick fingers. The line markings may be limited but the few lines that are marked on the palm tend to be strong and well defined. ?

3. We note the length and flexibility of your fingers and thumbs. A long thumb can be associated with independence and high levels of motivation.

4. We look at the major lines. Life, head, heart and fate. What story do they tell. The minor lines and marks provide information that can supplement and enhance the information generated by observing the major lines.

5. Which are the most prominent mounts. Each mount represents a certain characteristic in a person and in general larger, more pronounced and firmer mount, the stronger the characteristic is in the person. Depressed mounts denotes a weaker influcene. ?
