Have you been getting your daily dose of greens?
Today we are going to speak about the benefits of Moringa Oleifera

Moringa has become quite well known in the natural health scene for its cleansing and detoxifying actions. Did you know Moringa has been used for thousands of years for medicinal purposes and cooking?

Moringa has been found in homes of the Himalayan foothills, those of many tropical and subtropical regions of South Asia, all the way to areas of Central American - even parts of Africa and the Caribbean!

Also called Shigru or drumstick, the Moringa Tree is recognised for its ability to penetrate into deep levels of the tissue to assists in cleansing and detoxification - it is claimed the plant can assist in curing 300 different diseases

The leaves and pods are often consumed in recipes (check out our Moringa drumstick curry recipe in our stories and blog) and the dried leaves can be found in powdered form.

Shigru is particularly balancing for Kapha and Vata Doshas. Due to its heating nature, anyone experiencing Pitta predominant disorders, burning sensations, gastritis and sensitivity in the stomach should avoid using Moringa excessively.

A few of the benefits of Moringa:

✔️Assists in treating upper respiratory tract infections.

✔️ Rich in Vitamin A - great for eye health and the nervous system.

✔️ Treats liver, spleen and pancreas disorders with its cleansing properties.

    ✔️ Treats intestinal worms.

✔️ Beneficial for digestion due to its high amounts of dietary fibre.

✔️ Great in treating hypertension and high-cholesterol.

    ✔️ Supports weight loss.
