Ayurveda in perth

Ayurveda describes a regime to follow by the couple before pregnancy.

The first step towards a successful conception is the purification of the body (for male and female).

Panchakarma (purification treatment) aims to enhance the quality of the following 4 factors.

  1. Rtu (regular menstrual cycle)
  2. Beeja (Shukra and Arthava – healthy sperm and ovum)
  3. Ksheetra (healthy endometrial thickness)
  4. Ambu (sufficient and unobstructed blood circulation)

These factors are needed for conception. The Vedas contain very detailed description of the process to help and produce a healthy child.

This is a verse from the classical Ayurvedic text – Susruta Samhita Sarirasthana

Dhruvan caturnam sannidhyat
garbhah syat vidhi-purvakam
rtukestrambu -bijanam
samagryat ankuro yatha

In the process of bringing about a healthy crop, it is important that the season is appropriate, the soil be cured, the provision of water be optimum and the seed be of high quality.
Similarly, for conception it is important that the season and occasion be suitable, the woman and her womb be free of illness, the availability of nutrition for development of the foetus be optimum and the seed (sperm and ovum) be healthy and potent.

The Ayurvedic pre conception care is so rich in knowledge that I would very much recommend this to everyone planning a pregnancy. Not everyone has the opportunity to do a Panchakarma programme but there is so much else we can do. Such as following a suitable diet, dinacharya (daily routine), rtucharya (seasonal routine), ayurvedic medicines, yoga, ayurvedic body treatments (abhyanga, shirodhara …)

My heart was filled with joy when I have just received this email so I wanted to share this with you.
The email is from a lady who has done a classical panchakarma in December 2016.

Dear Karin,
It is so nice to hear from you and to learn that you are expanding and more people will be able to enjoy your wonderful treatments.
I also have some news for you – I am 12 week regnant and the baby is due in September. Actually, I got pregnant immediately after I finished panchakarma so thanks a lot to you and your team. I hope to see you again as soon as I am ready for my next panchakarma (not for the next baby but just for my personal health and well-being 🙂)
With best wishes,
Elen

With warm regards from Karin Lakshmi Ayurveda

My Experiences of Ayurveda

After experiencing the benefits of Ayurvedic massage treatments whilst on holidays in India, it has been an enormous blessing to discover Karin. Her extensive knowledge, experience and very loving nature make her a highly credible practitioner.

The principles of Ayurveda make very good sense to me as I seek to improve my health and live a more balanced lifestyle. The health benefits I have gained in a very short time through the massage treatments, herbs and diet have been amazing!

Recently I travelled to the city for two weeks of the Panchakarma treatment. The only way I can try to explain the outcome of this amazing experience is by the responses of my family, friends and colleagues upon my return home. I’ve had the most lovely and flattering comments about how great I look to how much I’m glowing and how my skin and hair look amazing! Of course I feel so ‘clean’ and so well, and now I’m very conscious of maintaining this incredible wellness by being more vigilant in practising the basic Ayurvedic principles especially the diet to balance my  doshas.

Thank you Karin …for your very caring and professional approach and especially for maintaining the authenticity and integrity of Ayurveda – a very important and powerful ancient health system.

The warmth and professionalism Karin showed during my panchakarma was above reproach. I could feel the benefits of my treatment almost immediately. Once I had finished my treatment, I felt a sense of lightness, joy and mental clarity, of which I had not felt in years. Since my treatment, my fresh outlook on life has opened up many wonderful opportunities for me. I remain grateful for my treatment, and cannot wait for my next panchakarma. I would highly recommend Karin and the panchakarma treatment to anyone wanting to treat and nurture their body, mind and soul. Thank-you again Karin for such a beautiful experience.

I am so happy about my improved wellbeing. The clarity of mind achieved by Ayurveda lifestyle is hard to surpass. It just keeps on getting better. I have done two Panchakarma’s, once you make to time to do it properly you won’t look back.  The hardest thing is creating the right environment for the Panchakarma and coming to terms with relaxing and not doing anything for three weeks. It is recommended to just walk, read or just do little bit of gardening which is very important to so that you get the full benefits.

It is a bit of a luxury to have someone with such knowledge for consultations who is meticulous about performing authentic treatments. Something rarely found, Karin is more than happy to answer questions, give support, and enjoys seeing the positive outcomes that are achieved.

Thank you for sharing this – Warmly Karin

In Ayurveda , the condition of the woman immediately after delivery is known by the sanskrit term of sutika

A woman is called sutika till one and half month after delivery. Classical vedic texts state the mother can be called sutika up until she has her first menstruation after delivery. According to Kashyapa Samhita sutika kala is for a period of six months.

After the expulsion of the placenta, the woman should lie on her abdomen. Her back should be massaged with Bala oil. Another option is to sit on a chair and bend forward resting the arms on a table or bed.

The lax/ loose abdomen should be tied with a cloth to avoid the vitiation of Vata in the pelvic area. It prevents the formation of empty space caused by the delivery of the foetus. The woman is advised to sleep in knee chest position.

Dashamularishta is a very benefical tonic to take to help to restore the digestive fire, it can also be mixed with Jeerakarishtam.

A light diet should be eaten then gradually increased. Hot jaggery water can be given to drink.

If the mother is not to weak oil massage can be started form 3rd or 4th day followed by a warm bath.
