I have been exposed to Ayurveda for the first time over ten years ago when a good friend of mine, an experienced and wise Yoga teacher recommended to try a consultation with a practitioner as I felt run down and sluggish at that time.

My background is Physiotherapy, I trained in Germany and I was lucky to receive a scholarship for a Masters in Sport Physiotherapy at Curtin University in Perth/WA in 2003. In this profession everything is about evidence-based practice and I love the concept and the outcomes. However, having worked in this occupation for a long time now, I could see there is more to complete well being than just exercises, stretches and building new Neuro pathways….

So, I was open to try a complimentary medicinal approach to address my own issues I had at that time and had a consultation with Karin. What an eye opener this was. The ayurvedic science is about the prevention of physical and mental ailments and finding the root cause of the disease rather than treating the symptoms which is what is usually happening in the western medicine.

I became fascinated with Ayurveda as I could see all the benefits and positive outcomes and started a “Diploma in Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant” with the Australasian Institute of Ayurvedic Studies (AIAS) in Brisbane where I was living at that time, under the guidance of Dr. Ajit. Recently successfully graduated, I relocated back to WA, to now work for Lakshmi Ayurveda as a therapist and lifestyle consultant.
