Meet Sam, mother of two boys, a wife, a lawyer, a yogi, a nature lover, an ocean dweller, and a passionate health and wellness professional. Sam supports her clients to find health and harmony through balance, drawing on the ancient wisdom of ayurveda, yoga and meditation, and applying it in the modern world.
Though she began her career as a lawyer, completing two Bachelor degrees in Law and Psychology at UWA, Sam quickly realised her passion lay in health and human experience. She has spent the last 15yrs training and working across a range of health, natural medicine and wellbeing specialities to nourish this interest and build a diverse approach to the health of mind, body and spirit.
Sam is a trained dental nurse and spent many years running a family practice where she was responsible for ensuring a high standard of clinical practice. She is a certified yoga teacher, experienced meditation guide and has her level 1 & 2 Reiki certification. She has an Austrian Diploma as a Snowsports Teacher, completed her divemaster in Honduras, and has worked across the world as a ski and snowboard instructor. Sam made three trips to rural East Timor offering dental services as head nurse and Indonesian translator for her team.
It was in 2011, while learning Ashtanga yoga with Vijay Amar in Goa, that Sam discovered Ayurveda, and something inside of her lit up, sparking what would become a lifelong passion. She subsequently spent 2 months in India in 2013 and again in 2015 learning B.K.S Iyengar yoga with Alex Borovik, completing a 200Hr Sivananda Hatha Yoga Teacher Training with Yogini Sonam Dupka, training in Tibetan massage, volunteering at a disabled orphanage and exploring ayurvedic cooking. She studied & explored a range of healing, energy, breath & meditation techniques, including Buddhist Vipassana which involved sitting for 100 hours in silent meditation. In 2016 she co-hosted yoga & surf retreats as a Wellness Facilitator in Sri Lanka.
In her spare time Sam has written a children’s meditation book ‘Mindful Mo’. She has also conducted beach yoga classes in City Beach and children’s yoga and meditation programs focussing on building self-esteem, confidence and a healthy mind at Girls Standing Strong in West Perth.
Shortly after the birth of her first son in 2017, Sam began her Advanced Diploma of Ayurveda with her beloved teacher Dr Roopa Rao at AIHFE. Sam was lucky enough to experience an ayurvedic pregnancy and birth of her second son, and is passionate about offering ayurvedic post natal support for new mums. Since 2018 Sam has been delivering a range of physical therapies and Ayurvedic treatments from her home clinic. Sam is honoured to be carrying out her final practical hours to become an Ayurvedic Practitioner with her beautiful mentor Karin from Lakshmi Ayurveda.
Sam is dedicated to the vedic sciences and feels deeply blessed to be able to serve her clients with the knowledge, wisdom and practices she has gathered on her journey so far. Her ambition is to support and empower others on their own personal health journey towards balance and contentment.
