Garbhavakranti Sarira – Formation of the Embryo

The study of the formation of an embryo is called Garbhavakranti Sarira in Sanskrit. There are chapters in Ayurvedic classical texts devoted to explaining the process of the formation of a foetus, optimal conditions for conception, preparing for conception and more.

Ayurvedic wisdom expands upon preparatory treatments for all stages of conceiving: pre-pregnacy, pregnancy and post-partum care are enumerated.
