    At-Home or Work Hand Massage
Having a busy day at work or home? Whatever your situation may be there is always a moment, even if its only a short moment, to give yourself a bit of extra care

A simple and relaxing way to do this is to perform a hand massage. We are constantly using our hands and giving them some love can be powerful for resetting the mind and body!

In Ayurveda we speak about Marma points ✨ vital energy points located on the surface of the body, including the hands.

Ayurveda describes 107 Marma points. Each is infused with prana, life force. Marma points serve as a bridge between the body, mind and soul and are located at anatomical sites where veins, arteries, tendons, bones or joints intersect.

Two points you can try at home are the Talahridaya and Kshipra Marma. Please be aware that over stimulation may cause slight pain and irritation. It is best if you speak with your Ayurvedic practitioner regarding the points to ensure you are performing correctly.

Talahridaya Marma: To locate, make a fist with your hand. The location where the middle finger touches the palm is the location. Great for providing emotional balance for the heart and mind, useful in relieving stress. Massage very gently in a circular motion.

Kshipra Marma: Located at the root of the thumb ✋ It would be best to see the practitioner for specific instructions on stimulation. For the time being, you can massage this point very gently.

Close your eyes and massage into other locations on the palm of your hand and and fingers. Where do you feel tension? You can use a light oil like black seed sesame oil for the massage.

It is important to understand that there are other Marma points which should not be stimulated unless instructed by a professional. If you have any questions about the suitability of marma stimulation you are welcome to message us with your questions.

We hope you enjoy your hand massage. Marma therapy is included in our massages at the clinic. If you are interested in making a booking the link to view available appointments is in our bio.

    Wishing you a great day
