Have you been experiencing water retention, weight gain, and/or feeling lethargic in the mornings? If so, a great practice to add into your daily routine is dry body brushing.
Dry body brushing works on the lymphatic system and increases circulation which helps to remove the feeling of heaviness and stagnation in the body. The practice is perfect for spring season, when we are more prone to Kapha imbalances. Body brushing is great for those stubborn, cellulite prone areas of our body in need of stimulation.
How to use a dry body brush?
Start at your ankles and use your brush to make strokes in the upwards direction. Brush all your limbs, your buttocks, stomach, and back moving up to your shoulders. Gently brush over the chest.
A useful tip! For those of you that struggle getting out of bed, keep your brush at the side of your bed and perform upon waking.
If your skin is sensitive to dry brushing you can use garshana silk gloves. Using the silk will still have an impact on the lymphatic system without the rough texture of the brush.
We have a few different body brushes available in the shop. We love using one with a handle to get to all areas of the back. You can also use a loofah or an old towel with a rough texture.
If you are interested in receiving your own personalised morning routine, we suggest booking in for an initial consultation to discuss in detail. During the consultation the practitioner will explain how often you should perform body brushing and other daily routine essentials.
You are welcome to call/text 0406 810 547 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
We hope you enjoy your week ahead!
