Have you heard of Shastika Shali? Shastika shali pinda sveda is a deeply invigorating massage and is shown in the video on our treatment page.
Small linen bags are filled with specially prepared rice boiled in milk and mixed with a herbal decoction. The bags are evenly massaged from the neck downwards to induce sweat. This is highly rejuvantive, nourishing and strengthening.
Shastika Shali is also known as navarakhizhi in Malayalam and was considered as treatment for a King in ancient India. It is very useful for chronic Vata disease, insomnia, multiple sclerosis, paralysis, muscle weakness or muscle stiffness, disease of the joints such as osteoarthritis and other degenerative conditions or it can be done as a rejuvenation and anti-aging treatment for a healthy person.
During this treatment, massage, heat and pressure are applied simultaneously to nourish the muscles and nerve endings. This helps to improve circulation and remove stiffness of the joints and clear the bodily channels. The complexion becomes beautiful, it promotes a healthy digestive function and restores vigour.
After the treatment the paste is removed from the bundle and is massaged over the body. The person should rest and take a warm bath after 30 minutes.
If you suffer from any ailments such as heart disease, asthma or fever the treatment will not be suited for you.
